The kids are back in school, the leaves will soon change color, and everyone is lining up for their first taste of a pumpkin spice latte. This can only mean one thing: fall is right around the corner. Kids will be asking to go to pumpkin patches and for wagon rides very soon.

We’ve created a list of fun, affordable fall activities for families to enjoy together in the Greater Cincinnati area. By utilizing the list below, fall can be filled with fun while you continue working toward your financial goals.

Kentucky Activities:

• Country Pumpkins: Country Pumpkins Fall Festival offers a kiddie corn maze, petting zoo, corn box, straw bale maze, play area, sand tunnels, hay pyramid, and a picnic shelter at no cost. At an additional cost, guests can pick out their own pumpkin, find their way through a 4-acre corn maze, and have fun with hayrides, barrel train rides, a cotton wagon ride, a turbo slide, and an extreme launcher. • Sunrock Farm Pumpkin Patch tour: During the month of October families can experience a two-hour, hands-on guided tour of the pumpkin patch. For $12 per person, families have the opportunity to milk a goat, gather eggs, hold chicks and bunnies; have hands-on time with cows, horses, sheep, and goats; visit alpaca and emu, and enjoy free apple cider and cookies on weekends at the farm store. 
• Kentucky Wool Festival: Take the family to the annual Kentucky Wool Festival the first weekend of October. There are arts and crafts vendors, bluegrass bands, food booths, and activities for every age group. Three-day passes are available for $12 and children under five are free.
• DevouGrass Festival: DevouGrass is a free bluegrass music festival at the Devou Park Band Shell in Covington, Ky on October 6. There’s a Kids Run and Ride that starts at 11 a.m., with music starting at noon. The event is free, although there are arts and crafts vendors as well as food vendors with items available to purchase. 
• Sandyland Acres Haunted Hayride and Farmers Revenge: If your kiddos are into the scary haunts, check out Sandyland in Petersburg, Ky. With plenty of Haunt Awards, the hayride or farmer’s revenge is sure to scare. Check out the website for pricing and hours. 

Ohio activities: 

• Bonnybrook Farms: Weekends September 29 through October 28, Bonnybrook Farms hosts Fall Farm Days. For $15 admission (children three or younger are free with a paying adult), guests enjoy unlimited access to the 45-minute adventure wagon ride with professional theatre actors, the crazed corn maze, giant slingshots, clodhopper golf, archery, friendly farm animals and play stalls, horse hill with tunnel and 80’ underground slide, and a farmyard play area with playhouses, swings, sandbox, and train locomotive. 
• Blooms & Berries Farm Market and Garden Center: Fall activities mean fun for all ages! Activities include a 7-acre corn maze, a mini kids’ corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayrides, farm animals, cow train rides, a straw maze, caramel apples, fresh apple cider, duck races, fall decorations, and food. • HallZOOween at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens:Weekends in October offer the chance to trick-or-treat with the animals, special animal encounters, beauty shop of horrors, Phil Dalton’s Theater of Illusion shows, the Hogwarts Express Train ride and the Scare-ousel. HallZooween is free with zoo admission, with extra costs for the train ride and carousel. 
• Fall-O-Ween: At Coney Island on October 6 & 7, 13 & 14, and 20 & 21, families will have the opportunity to ride the family rides including the hayride, play miniature golf, watch a Halloween magic show, find their way through the kid-friendly hay maze, walk the trick or treat trail and more. General admission for ages two and up is $12. 
• Jack O’Lantern Junction: Walk through the kid-friendly trick-or-treat maze and visit the indoor pumpkin patch at Entertrainment Junction in West Chester during the month of October. Visit the website for pricing information.
